McCain Went With Public Financing Leaving Obama in the Driver's Seat

One of McCain's brilliant errors was apparently assuming that the purportedly sincere liberal reformer Obama would stick with public financing for the Presidential campaign. By pledging to not seek private funds and limiting himself to public financing McCain was left outspent by Obama's money machine. McCain screwed up again. Bless him for it.

Of course there may have been more necessity than choice to McCain's decision to seek public financing. If he had the choice however, it was neither a sign of tactical nor strategic brilliance. He tried to lecture Obama about who knew what the term strategic meant in one of the so called "debates". Obama is the strategic genius of the two and this is just one part of that intellectual grasp that McCain just doesn't have, period.

McCain's Concession Speech Was Great But May Express A Justification for White Only Organizations

Yes, McCain's congratulations to the African-American community upon the election of President Obama can be taken at face value, he is being sincerely complimentary given the long sacrifice for a greater degree of racial equality in the United States. Still, the idea that a white community might "similarly" want a "whites only" church, community or political group may be in the back of his mind. It is certainly not an uncommon thing for a McCain supporter to belong to such organizations.

Of course Senator McCain isn't famous for expressing a consistent position on many important issues. McCain played the "good loser" once again and the noble fortunate servant of America. Still he must have wanted to get away from some of the thugs booing and yelling at his grand finale reminding us all that the bigotry at the core of the Republican Party has not died, nor has the Republican contempt for a democratic vote. But the avalanche of Obama votes overwhelmed the functioning fraud capacity. The evil Democrat was elected. "Boo!"
