McCain Does His Philistine Thing and Tries to Skip Republican Convention

Canceling even part of a national party's convention because there might be a catastrophe in Orleans is pretty hard to understand, especially from a "great leader" like McCain. What an incredible joke. Who are Bush and McCain to take off work to "help" the people of new Orleans? What a joke. How can anyone take this seriously?

So they postured as nice people who care about the remnants of the New Orleans population left over since the last public works neglect catastrophe. Caring about New Orleans and the United States means long term planning and long term investments that don't necessarily make money today. Indeed, it looks like the free enterprise system is unable to do public works correctly, like New Orleans the dikes are not built to withstand a Hurricane that is 4 or 5 on that Fujiyama ? scale.
So with global warming and other trends New Orleans is always going to be risking catastrophe during hurricane season. It's a matter of public policy.

Good mass evacuation, New Orleans, but do we really need martial law for the ten percent who remained? It is a fascist move and reprehensible in any society. We must obviously struggle for democracy to come about in New Orleans and this nation.

McCain should have at least postured as a bus driver or something. Meanwhile the great leader's convention is falling apart. Hell, let's cancel his whole candidacy and the Republican Party to boot!

With the Arrest of Amy Goodman and Two other Journalists McCain and the Twin Cities Offer Straigt Up Fascism

Amy Goodman and two Democracy Now producers were arrested while filming the harsh repression of peaceful demonstrators in the fascist stronghold of St. Paul, Minnesota.

Perhaps we should demand of the McCain campaign, that he demand the immediate release of these journalists.

Democracy Now! is calling on all journalists and concerne citizens to call the office of Mayor Chris Coleman and the Ramsey County Jail and demand the immediate release of Goodman, Kouddous and Salazar. These calls can be directed to: Chris Rider from Mayor Coleman's office at 651-266-8535 and the Ramsey County Jail at 651-266-9350
